Ear plugs

This morning I forgot to put in my earplugs and then couldn't be arsed to stop and put them in, afterall, they don't make that much difference do they? Wrong! Holy cow the noise!

First thing I noticed was the bike, I forget just how loud my bike is (I really need to get the can repacked), I mean the gorgeous noise was just echoing around me! My poor neighbours.

Then there was the wind noise, now I've been told that the Arai are known for it but I've ridden with ear plugs in for ages and they just cut it out completely. I couldn't believe the whistling nasty noise!

My ears were slightly ringing when I got to the office this morning, thats just under an hour. I will not be forgetting the plugs again, not for a while anyway. I now really appreciate the way it cuts out the unnecessary wind noise and muffles the bike slightly so I can hear the important things, such as ambulances etc.

You get used to it. You can still hear the lovely vtwin - ear plugs mean you can still hear it in 10 years time, as it would otherwise leave you deaf

Ear plugs are a necessity.
Somewhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours can be safe on a bike at legal speeds. If you like to go faster then it can be less.

Just like Kawk ZZR I too have a problem with earplugs. They make me feel unbalanced, so much so last time I tried them I started to feel sick and had to take them out.

I got some decent ones made at the NEC. God why didn't I do it before ??? Bloody marvelous and so much better than the foam ones... What wind noise ?

I should probably start using them. I'll probably be deaf by the time I turn 30 otherwise.
