Daytona Roadstar GTX and Nikwax

Afternoon,
just went for a spin on my SV and when I got back I noticed my boots had started to come out in a kind of a crumbly white residue. The boots are a pair of Daytonas, Gore Tex ones, and lastweek I gave them their first covering in Nikwax and they seemd garnd before my ride. It wasn't wet today so I'm wondering why the Nikwax has gone a bit crappy looking on my boots. Has anyone any ideas here? Boots were costly enough and I'm hoping Nikwax hasn't in some way made a feckin' mess of them. Can someone out their put my simple mind at ease and maybe tell me how to restore my boots to their shiny balck and scuffed former selves? Thanks.

What Nik wax was it, there's several sorts.

If you used the spray on gore tex proofer or the aqueous wax that dabs on, then this white residue won't be from the nikwax. It's more than likely salt thats kicked up off the road.

Just wipe them over with a damp cloth and they should be fine.

Ive got the same residue on my Alpinestar SMX's but I think it's the salt residue off the road.

Daytonas

I use Daytonas own waterproofing products.

Called Daytona Nasse Stop (Waterstop).

I also have their leather polish cream. Both products purchased from Infinity Motorcycles.

Try Renapur - highly recommended by quite a number of people :D
