they arent the may west alright.
I just looked through ebay one night, bid on the first one that had similar looking connectors, stuck it on, and its been fine. Here is one for baout a tenner. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUK...06693432QQrdZ1 This is an SV one. I have completely forgotten the type of bike my one came off. It was a suzuki, it was in the right sort of engine size, and it was ancient. So, yes, it will accept other types of reg. I just cant be bothered guntering connectors on. I really dont get why Suz. have such crap regs. |
This post is thread of useful info on regulators.

so far i've had three new bikes in my time of riding as well as used ones, all of them Suzuki's, two of the three have blown the regulator (within warranty thank god), fingers crossed on this one, it really does seem to me to be a week spot in their bikes.

Bike regulators are designed to be disposable... Just that some are a bit too disposable. But extra drain shouldn't kill them- in fact, with bikes, low drain is worse as it causes overheating. There's no way that fitting a set of dual lamps overloads an SV regulator, it might just have been on its last legs.
If it was me, I'd put another SV one in it. Either SV will do, IIRC, but the connectors are different so it could be a wiring job. Some GSXRs as well. |
