Police Drivers
I think I'm going to throw my roadcraft books in the bin.
Had a police car behind me for about a mile tonight, about eight inches off my back bumper. Tailgating really p*&ses me off, but from the coppers as well ?? And before anyone asks the lights and sirens where not on. |
You should have flagged him down and then nicked him
Only a small number of Police are highly trained drivers, and the rest are just ordinary drivers like the useless berks we come across every day.You were possibly being followed by one of them. |
Yeah you should have pulled over and then called 999 whilst you stood there with him!
|
I suppose they are testing how oblivious people are when they do this. Ie, if you are not even aware the old plod are up your swiss, you must be either a crap driver, or high or something. But, when you make it obvious you know they're there, it bascially turns into intimidation.
Drive to the local cop shop and tell them you see one of their cars driving suspiciously. I normally wave them on if they are hovering behind me. Was this not possible, or were you just not in the mood to pull over? |
he was probally bored and wanted to stop you for speeding when you botted it away to make it a safe distance

i had a moment today involving the police too.
this afternoon i was on the north circular a 2 lane road, heading north away from chiswick r/bout. Doing about 45 in the right hand land approaching the brow of a small hill, traffic solid on the other side approaching chiswick roundabout. as i got to the brow of the hill, full anchors on as a police car was screaming towards me on my side of the road, all lights and sirens. The car immediately on my left also jammed on his brakes - all three vehicles stopped, i squeezed over by the car, and off shot the police with a small wave to say thanks/sorry. glad i was not going faster/it had been wet or it could have been bad news. |

He did actually come past me at a junction where the road widens and there are two lanes for turning left, he pulled along side me and then straight out, cutting someone up really badly. |

Seriously, I wonder if you can report cops for dangerous driving. I dont see why not. Allegedly they are meant to follow the same rules as us lot. And there is only lee-way given when they are sirening and flashing lighting and things. Just say to the lad your reporting to... "Yeah, i think you have a cop car stolen... driving very erratically." Was it a young fella driving yeah? Probably only just on the force... (Hopefully??) I saw a muppet *REEF* across a chick on a huge harley yesterday, and stopped in the hard shoulder. I was with another lad, both of *us* exchanged  looks. She didnt bat an eyelid. |
If you do the police "SafeRider/BikeSafe" course you will not believe how close they sit on your mudguard! At least we know that most/all of the motorcyclists in the Police are highly trained!
