PETROL POURING OUT?
 
hya guys-
was bored- started me bike up to tick it over(an annoy the neighbours)

2 mins after start and it ticking over nice..petrol all over the floor??...

any idea why?..> its just pouring out.

do I look as high as possible and work me way down>> could it be a loose clip or can the frost(not garaged) crack a petrol pipe???

any input ??

I know i gonna have to take the seat off and raise the tank and start her again and see wot happens... dam i hope it aint anything major..

Yeah, try and see whats leaking, take a pic then circle it in paint or something and post it up :)

Means taking the float chamber off the carbs, taking the carbs off the bike, proping the tank up, nah not really :lol:

Check its coming from the float chamber over flow first :wink:

there's a recall starting up here in the states for leaking fuel tanks on the fi models 03-06 I'll find the forum and get back to ya.

Stuck floats/needles are very unusual nowadays, usually it's a crud on the float needle, which will require your removing the carbs to sort out, but it's worth giving the float bowl a tap-tap-tap lightly first, try using a screwdriver handle, it might loosen things up. If that fails then you'll have to remove the carbs.

I really wish I was mechanical like sid - but then I am young!!.

no serious I may have to do a night class or similar..... I am very envious of you guys that know all the technicaities and can diagnose from a description...
