It was very stupid and I have learnt my lesson....

10pm, empty road (dual carriageway), limit is 30, policeman got me on a handheld radar gun at dead on 60!

Had to go to court, was just thankful I did not get a ban.

Was driving my 1.2 Corsa SXI at the time!!!

They even insure drivers with provisional licenses

www.rampdale.co.uk

did a quote with them before my accident, was £900, but found cheaper. After the accident did another quote with them all they wanted was an extra £250 excess, which was fine by me, when the other companies wanted £1400 or so.

so im with rampdale now.. :D

Try Choice Quote or Motor Cycle Direct, they generally offer cheap quotes.

I dont think you'll beat the excess by much more. If you could, would it be worth it?

Most things can be fixed for under £600, anything over would be a write off (most likely) so you'd have to claim. If you did claim for less than a write off think about the difference in cost after you'd lost the NCB.

Personally, even if i had a £250 excess (which i do) i'd prefer to fix it myself up to £600 coz its taken me two years to get my insurance this cheap, i'm not going to pass up the long term savings for the cost of some panels and levers.
