Same old winter glover question

i'm looking for a winter glove = fully waterproof

that does not have silly massive gauntlets (cuffs) to go under my winter jacket, at the minute my current gloves are great but water runs off my jacket and down into my gloves, thats how my hands get wet, any good ideas

also ideally less than £50 cos i'm very very skint, but also very very wet too

I've got a pair of Goretex Alpinestars WR1 Drystar Gloves

Never leaked, nice and soft inside and toasty warm. Gauntlet isnt huge and has a drawstring on it, to pull it tight and then you can slide it up inside the sleeves of your jacket so the water doesnt run down inside the glove.

I've been using these all over winter and they've kept my hands dry. They've even stood up to repeated soakings of an hour or so on the trip from Yeovil to Amesbury.

£55 or around that mark well worth the money IMHO. They only drawback is that they dont have any armour.

Edit you can buy them on line from J & S, £42 + vat

If you want dry and warm hands forget fashion and get practicle and buy some Belstaf overmits. I wear ski gloves under them and I am warm and dry. there is no protection and they take a little time to get used to but compared to cold hands you at least have some feel in your hands. I think you an get them for about £18. I have now adapted a pair of hoods from barber jackets into bar muffs and they work great but look horrible but my hands are dry and warmer. I did 230 miles on sunday going down to Brighton for the Pioneer Run and was just getting cold when I reached home.

Hein Gericke PATHAN 2F LEATHER GLOVE BLK £39,99
I have been wearing them everyday through the winter - waterproof (never leaked once) - 2 year guarantee, and enough room under them for a cashmere liner on the really cold days. (Warm too!!!)

They're really, really good those. Like most HG gloves they tend not to last too well, but that's OK since they're half the cost of anything better, you can replace them twice as often.

I just got a pair of Richa ones, which are the same sort of design. They're seriosuly warm, better than the Pathans, not been thoroughly tested in the wet, but they've suddenly developed a hole in one finger after a few hundred miles :( So they're going back. I think it's a defect rather than a problem with teh design, most of the stitching's solid and they tested well in Ride.
