Ha ha, look at picture number 3.

People walking in cycle lanes is a nuisance, especially when they glare when the cycle "buzzes" them. Gf is of dutch descent and wants me to go on a biking holiday to holland with her. Apparently motorbikes are allowed in cycle lanes there.

I thought that the cycle lanes in Holland were called 'roads' :D

At least Amsterdam seems to have very few cars and millions of cyclists. It's a very cycle-friendly country.

So it's true proper bikes can? I had visions of her mistaking scooters or mopeds for motorbikes (bless!). I take it catching the ferry over isn't too tricky?

Taken from the site the BBC borrowed some of the pictures from:
http://www.17beechroad.freeserve.co....bruary2006.htm

Apparently this "isn't a cycle lane". Read the "full correspondence"; it's typical of the "we must adhere to protocol, even if it's dangerous and nonsensical" attitude one regularly encounters when dealing with beauracrats. :D

Yes and bike theft is rife. Even ordinary decent people seem to think if your bike is nicked, you can just nick someone elses! (or so a dutch mate told me)
