Rear Sprocket Nuts
 

Need some new ones as I'll be changing the chain and sprockets shortly. I have been looking at the aluminium ones with a stainless insert from Pro Bolt (tastynuts), but I have heard conflicting stories about them. Has anyone used them? Are they any good? Were you pleased with them?

Also looking at the titanium ones. Is it worth it over the ally ones? Not bothered about the weight saving, but I do want some which don't look shi'ite after a winter.

I've got them on the SV.. never had any problems, even after a chain and sprocket change.

They'll mar up over time... I think Probolts have a disclaimer on the site about that. It's a soft surface for tools, obviously, But as far as safety goes they should be fine, it basically works like a helicoil.

I can see that they'd be easy to destroy though- just took a sprocket off an old B12 wheel last night and it was seriously stuck, I'm sure ally would have been too soft to withstand the pressure needed to shift them

Not immensely expensive either, for plain nuts.

I've got some blue ally ones on the SV1000, the sort with the steel insert, not had any probs. The SV1000 makes more torque and similarish power to your CBR, I don't think you'll have any troubles with them.

When fitting them wrap them witha rag or some strong tape, and be careful how much torque you use, take a dab of care and they'll be fine.
