Jeez - bike got vandalised on Friday night. - grrr!

Was round my girlfriends in Kemp Town Friday night and we heard a crash from outside.

Looked out the window - 2 hooded blokes running away from the bike.

I suppose they must have been trying to sit on it. Bike had been pulled over onto left side. Stand was still down. Right mirror and screen broken. Nice.

Thanks to James Holland I had refitted the crash bungs he sent me.

£100 poorer. And I had to drive to work (but pls don't tell anyone) :D

But what really p***ses me off is the feeling of insecurity about leaving a bike in public in my home town. B***ards!

Sorry to hear about this Huge. I recently had my bike damaged in work's car park (parked just outside the range of the CCTV  ). I don't think the damage was malicious, more just a dishonest delivery man hitting it and not owning up. I agree with you completely that it's not so much the fixing it up (luckily for me it only cost about £5 and hours of sanding and repainting) that is the pain, but more the heightened sense of worry whenever you park in public.

Sorry to hear of the vandalism incident.

I lived in Kemptown for 2 years so I know the place very well. Once
my battered Ford Escort was stolen. The bizarre thing about that
incident was the fact that Steven Berkoff's Jaguar and a gay
neighbour's Bentley Convertible were parked on either side of the
Escort but for some reason the hooligans chose my car.

At least they didn't manage to start it and rolled the car to the beach. Found it
undamaged a few days later minus my tools (they were in the boot when the car
was nicked).

Mrs Professor suspected the son of our neighbours from downstairs was behind this.
