Miles Per gallon

Ok all, since i now know how to work out miles per gallon, i was wondering what most people get out of their bikes

give me a number and the kind of riding you do

mine: about 40mpg fast road and motorway

bout the same when I'm out enjoying myself, 50ish commuting to and from work.

If you have a look at this post and my 'Bikers View Blog' you see alot of figures for my Carbed SV and for all the different fuels. But I'm getting 50ish mpg running the bike at 6-7000 revs in all gears.

Also this is a useful link for working out your MPG

About 130 miles to a Tenner, which should equate about 50+ to the gallon.

My riding still could be described as getting to know the Bike.
No where near on the limit and not screaming the nuts off it.

31 was the lowest

58 was the highest,

average about 46

Mostly fast town commute with the occasional weekend ride etc.

I get about 110 miles before the light goes on so about 45-50 depending. Mine is a K4

I got 60 all the time when it was new, but now with tuning it's about 50. Burning along motorways with waterproofs an panniers is worth another 5mpg less. How on earth did you get it down to 40? I thought only bike journos managed that?

bobit69 06-04-06 03:51 PM

I get about 90 miles for a tenner, that is to and from London each day, riding like a loon though.. (Keep the revs between 6-9). Can't complain, I do have a great time when the wether is like what it is!
