New Tyres
I am going to get new tyres shortly and I was thinking of Diablos what do you lot think??
Also toying maybe with the idea of diablo corsa, who has what and which do u recommend?? TIA |
I've got a set of Diablos on atm and am very happy with them. I got 12000km out of the rear before it was well and truly stuffed and should get the std 2 rears to 1 front.
Grip is very good and when you do get a slide on it is progressive and controllable. The tyres warm up quite quickly and are very stable too. I am looking at changing my front to a 70 profile next time as I am running to the edge of the front and would like a bit more available tyre. If you are mainly doing fast road riding with a track day every now and then the Diablos are the goods. Diablo Corsas are for those spending a good deall of time on the track. |
Depends on your riding really, a common type is the bridgestones bt020 either both front and rear or a bt010 on the front. These tyres work great in any condition and that includes sub zero temps and some ice.
Check out the tyre section for some more help and info as alot of the tyres available have been rated and reviewed there. |
I can't recomend the Conti Road Attacks highly enough. Great for commuting in all weathers and are very good in the twistys. I got front and rear for £140 fitted on the bike from National (you have to ge them to price match)

Avon viper sports are fantasticly sticky and highly rated by mini twins racers. Just had a pair fitted and spent saterday scrubing them in. Best tyres I've had and only £188 for the pair !

There's a reason the you get a free rear when you buy a pair and its not cos they sell so well  Diablo's or Roadtechs get my vote, Bt020's over 010 front as the 010's seem to step very early, dont wear out fast but become a horrible shape very quickly |
Just going on what JHS racing said! Not tried any others aprt from the dunlop sportmax that were on the bike to begin with.
"To answer one frequently asked question: we recommend that the best replacement tyres for the Suzuki SV650 are the Avon Viper Sport. We use these on our own racing machines and have found them to deliver exceptional levels of grip and predictable control, very well suited to the SV's handling characteristics. See our tyres page for more information" |

Loads of tread left after 4000 miles ( I reckon they will be good for another 4000 at least). Very stable in the wet, and stacks of grip in the dry. Highly recommended - and I only paid £165 fitted  |
Did lots of research before buying my replacements for oe Metzelers and ended up buying bt020's.
I have been really impressed and as noted previously they really do work well in all weathers performing particularly in the wet. Been on for a 1,000 now and no real wear. Controlled a small rear slide comfortably last week when I was changing down too enthusiatically! Recommended psi is 36 front and rear by the way, if you do get them. Had them fitted for £180 inc balancing by Pro tyre in Fareham. |
