CCC

I have just recieved my stainless oval road *how the hell is this* legal can. 8)

Can someone please confirm that the R/L cans are race cans with what looks like an oval tube inside the main body and a slightly offset tube inside the end cap which has a rivet and a couple of spot welds to hold it in place?

How does this manage to make it "quiet" as it's basically a race can.

How do you go about taking the baffle out 'to clean' as the paperwork says?

Is there much of a sound difference?

Don't get me wrong, looks good, just curious that's all.

Instructions that come with the can tell you how to drill out the single rivet to remove the baffle. Can not remember if it was a 4mm or 3mm drill bit needed but you can e mail CCC and ask. Might be a bit hard getting baffle out at first so stick a broom handle up the other end of can and give it a shove.

Never had my baffle in so do not know what it sounds like when it is moving but let me tell you....without the baffle the bike is one noisy S.O.B. and sounds glorious :D

It sounds good with the baffle in - so much so that I left mine in for 3 months! Then I took it out and have never looked back...

I put it back in for the MOT and it passed with no problems! :D

I managed to get it out, not on the bike yet  and it was pretty easy, just confused me at first. Doesn't look like much of a baffle though (I ain't got any pics)

There is the bit from the end cap which is welded to the bit of pipe from inside the can at about 30 degrees, but it's only spot welded in three parts so the top side is open, doesn't look like the pics I've seen (welded all round) so I'll just have to see. If it come to it I can always get it welded up at work to be a little quireter.

I may be keeping it in, with my other mods this will be one loud bike  .

Squirt a bit of WD40 down it, and ease out using molegrips

I was thinking of buying one until I read this. I am off early every morning and we have good neighbours and I would like to keep it that way. So I will stick with the sewing machine.

Get the can...drill out the baffle, put it in when you leave and take it out once you cleared your area. No i do not do that and no one has complained....including the cop 2 houses away. Then again i move off as soon as i start it and leave around 7:30 so not to early.

Will never return to that absolute **** stock sounding can!
