Ligtning strikes Carfin!!!
 

A MASSIVE bolt of lighning has just blasted into my garden!!! I swear, have never seen anything like this before!! It all started off quite civilised. Could hear the distant thunder and see the odd faint flicker of light in the sky. Then you could hear it getting nearer. Lighting getting a wee bit stronger, thunder a wee bit louder, and closer to the lighning. Then, started seeing a few forks of lightning. Me and the cat were happily watching this. She was sitting outside on the dining room window ledge, while I was inside. It started getting a wee bitty more forky, and so, I thought I would head upstaires cos I thought I would get a better view.

Then it started getting a wee bit more frantic. Many many more forks of lightning (just like you see on the telly if you know what I mean). Thunder getting really loud. THen, thats when the massive one hit. I swear, It hit the garden!!! This bolt was like a thick tree trunk or something, and cos I was upstairs, i saw it blast right in front of me!!! And the thunder clap that came after it was like NOTHING I have ever heard! I seriously thought that a pylon or something had been hit. The noise of the blast seemed to go on for ages. Then the rain started! It was as if someone had like a massive bucket of water, and jsut poured it. Then added some hail to it. It was so feroucious that several car alarms started going off.

And the thunder is still grumbling on. God knows where the storm is now!

And as I typed that, another louder clap was heard! I think the d**n thing is coming back again!!!!

Carfin id just outside (well actually technically speaking part of) Motherwell, which is in Lanarkshire.

long exposure on a small aperture will do it nicely. :wink:

****! I haven't noticed any tripods!!!! Maybe I should go and look. Just let me finish making this wee green man his cuppa. He just turned up at my door a wee while ago with some rather strange looking surgical instruments in his hand...
