Anyone rate Nolan Helmets?
When I bought my Jacket I looked at this helmet and it seemed pretty good. I like the extra flip up dark visor and apparently it can be exchanged with an anti fog visor as and when you desire.
http://www.hein-gericke.com/uk/produ...oducts_id/2261 I currently have a HJC CS12 which is my first helmet and although it's good I am aware that it's a budget model. The reason I want a new one is that I want to be better protected and i'm a tart who want's to look cool on my bike  So, is it any good and is it worth the money? |
IMO you'd be better off with a caberg justissimo. it too has an extra sun visor, and a front flip. there's an anti fog coating on the clear visor and it's cheaper at £149.99

Marco Melandri (Moto GP) rates the Nolan range, so can't be bad. As for the Justissimo, I've got one and it's great. Anti-fog? You're joking aren't you......
......both me and Quedos suffer problems in that department with this helmet. Other than that though they are great. Garry |
I had a couple of Nolan helmets a few years ago, to be honest I did not like them as they never seemed to be comfortable, but different heads may think different.

Cheers for that :)
The Caberg looks pretty good, but i'm still not sure. Was thinking of getting a new lid next week after my Birthday (Blatantly plugging your Birthday is expected isn't it?, I accept cheques, visa and of course hard cash) but any suggestions if I was to save a bit more money? The flip up style of lid is not really a priority to me. It just happened to be a feature on this helmet Things I don't like about my CS12 are that it's quite heavy. It looks really big, and I get a lot of wind on my face even when the visor is closed tight. I'd like to wear a dark Visor but I often ride to work in the sun and home in the dark or vice versa, so that's why I liked the extra flip down visor idea. Are there any helmets with a full dark visor that flips down in addition to the clear one? |
The Caberg sun shade IS a full visor (visually) and you can get it out of the way REAL quick for tunnels etc. No problems with wind on the face or whatever. Worth remembering that you can rub an itchy nose or whatever on the move better if the front can be flipped up briefly a la Mr Plod
Garry  |
ive got a HJC AC-11 it was only £99 and came second in the ride helmet survey,
cheap price doesnt always mean lack of protection  |
if the flip isn't important then there's always the caberg V2. still has the internal sun visor ( and yes, it works on its own from the clear one). the plain colors retail at £99.99 and it looks much more moden.
