Off road

Hey does anyone know if you can get any off road bike registered and road legal i want something like a Yamaha YZ125 to use on the road but not sure if you can road register any bike. I know you need all road legal tires, lights etc to get the MOT just i dont know much about it, thanks!

I dont know much about it, But I did an offroad school day on Friday and the chap that ran it was talking about it.

You'll need a speedo. Some idiot lights, a brake light and a horn at the least I would think. If you get a daytime MOT you dont have to worry about lights.

He reckoned the best way to do this was to get a Single Vehicle Approval on the bike rather than just MOT'ing it though. I guess you'll need an MOT as wel

thanks for the quick responses  daylight MOT sounds a good idea becuase i doubt i would use it at night anyway i got a ZX6R for that  also the lights look stupid  i dont really like the DT125 tho much prefer a YZ or RM be great fun though!

Are you going to actually use this as a road bike? If so then it really would not be much fun, far better and cheaper to get a proper road legal 4 stroke such as a DRZ400.

If you are going to use it green laning then it will be far too loud.

I had a road legal YZ250 a few years ago - it was a bit of a pain to be honest - no stand, no charging, noisy, fouling plugs - fun but was pleased to get rid of it.
