Bovril vs Marmite
Does anyone know what the difference is between Bovril and Marmite? The smell the same, look the same, taste the same and have nearly the same consistency - so are they one and the same thing? I guess it would be hard to make a drink from Marmite, but that might just be because its more concentrated and hence thicker? Apparently Bovril used to be bovine extract but in the recent past has become yeast extract the same as Marmite....
No particular reason for me asking! I prefer Vegemite anyway! :P |
Yeah, marmite is DISGUSTING, but chicken bovril on toast is just HEAVEN. 8)

Marmite tastes of yeast (which its made).... with salt...
Bovril tastes of beef.... though it is simmilar... and it now made from yeast too. Both can be drinks, and are both yummy... Though I prefure chicken bovril to beef, tastes good on toast too. :D |
