exhaust backfire???

Recently fitted a full exhaust system to the bike,

consists of quill t3 can and micron zeta race pipework, didnt notice any blowing but think it might be a little bit at the front cyclinder, when i let off the gas i get a resonable sounding backfire, is this normal at all, or is backfiring gonna cause damage,

i am also currently running on 33bhp but proberly wont be for much longer,

Its normal if you haven't reset up the fueling and air mix after puting a new exhaust on. Probably running a bit rich, shouldn't cause to much of a problem, I think every SV on this forum does it a bit. I take it is mainly when you give it some stick and roll off.

i like that bit

Isnt this to do with the PAIR system.

I'm sure i've read on here when fitting a full system exhaust the PAIR system needs to be by passed or else you get the popping like you have.

Search for PAIR on here or wait until somebody more knowledgeable comes along.

yeh i like the sound, just worried about it, newbie so u know how it is,

So its pretty normal then for backfiring when u let off the throttle, no damage is gonna happen
