Fairing Lowers

Hi all,
Decided to buy a set of fairing lowers for my Yellow K1 and for ages have been checking e bay but nothing suitable has turned up.
As it could take litterally years for the right item in the right condition to come up for sale, I've decided to bite the bullet and go down the dealer route and as usual "pay through the nose".
Question - Is it worth phoning round my local Suzuki dealers for "a price" or is the price of the item fixed with no movement in the price ?
For the length of time it takes - maybe I could negotiate FREE fitting ?
Anyone had any experience ?
Cheers

Since they'll not likely have any in stock, you'll find it hard to shift them on price... If you get lucky and one of them does have them in stock, though, you win :)

if you get them from the dealer, at least you know you've got all the fitting bits and bobs, and it is obviously brand new too - the fitting kit that came with my K3 lowers had a lot of stuff!

plus with a K1 you pay less - suzuki site says £274 vs the £375 i paid...

I got my silver K2 lowers on eBay, but that was a long time ago now. Could you get some in the wrong colour and have them sprayed up?

Or, as a left-field suggestion, get some in deliberately the wrong colour (black maybe?) and leave them like that to get a two-tone effect?

BTW it took me a while to fit them, they're quite fiddly. It's not difficult as such, but neither is it a simple case of line 'em up and screw em on. Despite the bike being uncrashed and the fairings being brand new with all correct fixings, it didn't all quite line up.

Thanks for some honest frank advice.
Sounds like I'm off to the dealers then....
BTW apart from the obvious effects of riding in stiff cross winds, does full fairing affect the handling at all?
