GSXR600 - does this sound like a good deal?
 

There I was, feeling very happy with my SV and knowing that I would be faithful forevermore, when temptation crossed my path... :twisted:

I wanted a second (third, fourth etc) opinion as you guys are pretty good at that - is this a reasonable sounding deal?

The bike is:
2000 GSXR600 in Corona colours
Yoshi can
5k miles
two owners from new
Slight scuffs where its been dropped, but nothing major - otherwise great condition

They are asking £1500 for it

sounds cheap? sure its only scuffs? nice bike and good for the money if it all checks out.

is that the srad model???
if it is then no.

if its a later one, then it sounds good

i say bite his hand arm and anything else off

Mileage is so low, I'd be checking that it wasn't used as a track bike, ex racer...

Then again there's a part of me that sez, you have a bike already, why do you want another one?? :lol:

SRAD or not, it's a damn good deal.

However, it's one I'm very suspicious of...1k miles a year....slight "scuffs" (have the clocks been replaced? ;))

It is an SRAD model, the 600 FI model was released in 2001.

1500 is a good price but be weary of what is involved, when was its last MOT? is there more damage than just the fairings, SRAD's are common as a race bike, does the owner seem like one? Does it come with the original exhaust?

I recently bought a 1999 SRAD with about 4,500 miles on the clock, the difference was I knew the owner and he hardly took it on the road let alone the track. Bear in mind fluids may need replacing, brake lines, air and oil filters esp. if its been sitting a while and the tyres could be squared.

Its a good price but I would be wondering why it is this cheap, I would expect more at that mileage.

Did they make an SRAD in Corona colours ? I know they offered it as an option on later bikes, not sure about the SRAD. Wandering if its had a respray ?

Umh... if that was me I would be doing some more research on the bike.

Yer im pretty sure Corona was an option on 2000 models, the old colours with a big yellow blob on some blue. Looks a bit dated now though
