Diablo tyre pressure question..

Hi all,

New to this site so I apologise if this is done to death...

Bought a 3500 mile 2003 SV650S at the weekend that came shod with Diablo tyres.

Trying to find out the ideal pressures for these and getting conflicting results...
Had a page through your FAQ which pointed towards a standard of 36f/42r.

These good for the Diablos/SV or should I be more towards the 34f/36r settings I've also unearthed?

Thanks in advance.
Lee

42 sounds shockingly high to me, but what do I know?
I've been checking my tyre pressure quite frequently and found it quite low so I decided to check it straight after adjusting it and found it to be 2psi below what I had just adjusted it to. Does the air you lose when you take off the nozzle account for so much? it is a lot more awkward than a car tyre.
Anyway I did it again at 35/38 both 2 more than the chainguard label for my OEM Dunlops.

A lot of it is down to you. What feels right for your style of riding? I would suggest that you start off with the Suzuki recommended pressures of 33/36, which are (deliberately) not manufacturer-specific, and then add a couple of PSI at a time and see how the bike feels. I certainly wouldn't go higher than 38/42 and suggest that a figure lower than this would likely be best suited to road riding.

To add to what others have said , this is what pirelli says lol. You have to copy and paste the whole lot.

personally at the moment I'm running 39 Rear and 35 front.

Excellent, thanks for that..
Not sure what they're set at right now but it feels a tad unstable when leant over..
I'll have a fiddle and see how I go.

Cheers all!

Just seen the FAQ you refer to on this site, sounds good I'll try 36/42 (my petrol forecourt will probably give me less anyway

We run 36/42 on our Diablo's. That's what we were recommended when we had them fitted. Seems to work for us :D
