Seriously, pop tom tom into search ^^^ up thee as a few people have asked, and i beleieve solved the very same problem.

I Did some off from the handle bar attachment - made it more narrow. Attached it to right hand side and it works. Tough mine is 2002 model. Yes i "stole" the power all the way from the tail light. Behind braker and does not work w/o ingnition, lights on.
