Hi & welcome.
If you update your profile with a location, you could pop down to a local meet and see some examples yourself. Cheers Mark. |
Tail Tidy Num Plate Positioning?
Hello Rictus01 I usually go to Bridgenorth on a Wednesday night to a pub called The Swancote, only problem is I cant go as my bike hasnt got the plate attached to it, I sacrficed not going Wednesday just gone as I wanted my Tail Tidy sorted by the weekend - have you got a Tail Tidy fitted to your bike?? I have more room to play with than an aftermarket Tail Tidy as mine is homemade via a sheet of flat alloy

Hi SVnutta,
If I'm not mistaken isn't that Wolverhampton way? if so introduce yourself in the MIGTS section. also add your model to your bike description as this will help is you ask for advice in the future. My SV currently has an aftermarket undertray which fixes the location of the plate mount, however, prior to that, I fabricated one from ABS plastic and another from a sheet of alloy, so set my own position. dependent on plate size (I use 7x5) and suspension setup, tyre clearance could be a factor, although you can angle the plate to mitigate this. Another thing to consider is the old bill will give you hassle if it's to far under the tail (they see it as avaiding traffic camera ID). Cheers Mark. |

Re: Tail Tidy Num Plate Positioning?
BE CAREFUL!
The previous owner of my bike had fitted a cheapo tidy just under the break light. I guess the angle would have been wrong and/or clearances not sorted but the plate caught the back wheel and... Tyre: £130 Hugger: £120 New Tidy: £55 New Bulbs: £5 New Plate: £15 Make sure there is enough clearance for your tyre or the next sunken manhole cover could prove very expensive!!! I'm just wondering if plod will let me off having a mini plate? |
