Akrapovic full race system and the Power Commander
I have just fitted an Akrapovic titanium full system with race end can (with head angled baffle from SpeedyCom). Does anyone have a favourite Power Commander map for this system. The closest match I could find was for an Arrow full system, however I am getting a bit of a flat spot in the 4k to 5k rpm range when using this.

I suggest trying a change to one of the alternate maps on the PC database and see how that feels.
The Micron full system map for instance has richer settings than the Arrow full map in the region of revs you have detected a flat spot . You can compare map vs map using the PC111 software on laptop but guess you already have that capability. Load the alternate map and compare the response of each and if one map gives better results then tweak the settings manually to the best fit map and you may find a benefit..Its very satisfying tweaking the maps yourself once you work out whats going on. Dont be scared as the SV injection settings on Euro models seem to be set rich as std on any mid/high rev mid/high throttle settings . To obtain 100% best results patently are to run the bike at length on a proper dyno facility and get a custom map - however that costs. Have fun. Graham |
After what the full system and power commander would of cost, you may as well just get a custom map made up.

graywok, I will give that a go and see what happens. I hope that the baffle I have added is not causing the issue, as I am not sure that I am prepared to take it out. That may change over time of course  The bike sounds very much like a Ducati now :D
curium, I may do that eventually if my tweaking doesn't help. |

sdusk , have you tried taking the baffle thing out just for a test and see how that goes. The speedycom angled baff looks like a piece of pipe with no flute holes -is this the case? It may be causing a restriction to the gasflow that no amount of Induction tuning may compensate for. Custom maps do cost a few bob so suggest this is done once you have a permanent intake / exhaust setup sorted. Also best to check for the normal standard stuff: -any leaks in the Exhaust manifold connections -plugs and plug caps -battery condition p.s.got any pics of the system on the bike as sounds interesting. Graham, I think I will have to do a test to be certain with it out. It is indeed just a pipe, however the diameter is a fair bit less than the inside of the can, so gasflow is going both on the inside and the outside of the pipe. The speedycom folk said it was modelled on a Micron baffle, but I have no way to verify that. I will check everything to be sure.
I haven't got any pics yet, but I will make a point of getting some later in the week! |
I have an Akro full system and Power commander,I used the 'Micron Full-System' map,and played with it myself!
However,I run mine with No baffle because I'm a VERY naughty boy! |
Your best off with a custom map. No two bikes are the same when it comes to mapping.

Cheers Speedy, the Micron map is a better fit and is very different - in top gear it just keeps accelerating, and went right into the red and was still pulling hard. It never used to do that.
SV650Racer, I will get the custom map done eventually. It is quite amazing at the difference that can be made with a few numbers... Graham, here is a photo for you: http://www.duskart.com/photography/l...southken01.jpg |
That looks nice! Yeah Micron map is V.good!
Heres mine!http://upload4.postimage.org/500272/DSC00086.jpg By the way, what tyres are they? |
