SVs on track - Lydden Trackday 5th Aug 06.

Ok so I mentioned doing a trackday a little while back, actually at Brands Indy, quite a few people were game. Someone mentioned that several SVers were doing Lydden 5th Aug 06.

Anyhooo … I have now booked onto the Lydden trackday today!!! :thumleft:

Anyone else up for it? :riding:

The original post is slightly hidden? On the SELKENT forum, but to be fair people wider than that will probably not see it, so this is an opportunity to open it to all :)

Oh and if anyone en-route from Portsmouth (A3, M25 etc) wants a lift rather than ride there, I can squeeze another bike in my van :driving:

Hummmm nil-response!!

To try and inspire people I asked Mr Google if he had any onboard videos of Lydden … not only did he come up trumps, but I lucked out … I got one that was actually taken onboard an SV 8) … during a minitwins race!!! Watch this and tell me you don’t want to get out there and give it a crack yourself?!?!? :riding:

Signing on is 8am, so best to get to the track about 7:30am, perhaps just before. If I travel alone, I was going to go up the night before and sleep in the back of the van (with my bike :makelurve: ).

There will be some B&Bs round there (or even a campsite??) that if there was a bunch of us we could book in there the night before and have a chat/social down the bar the night before, this will make the morning start more acceptable and be a good opportunity for us to all say hi.

Get booked on tomorrow!!

I have watched that vid over and over, I’m gagging to get out there now!! :)

But I have to wait a couple of weeks yet :( … so more googling  … I found another Lydden vid :- http://www.alexbaileyracing.com/media/lyddentd26305.wmv this one looks like it is shot on a 600, but probably gives a clearer view of the track as it is longer and less traffic, looks like it is on a trackday … in the novice group …

I might be up for this. I was going to rdie down on Saturday, but working out times, it means I'need to live rather early. If the B&B isn't too expensive then I'll be up for riding down on Friday night.

Blue_SV650S 17-07-06 09:16 AM

Ok, just rang the circuit, supposedly it will be open on Friday evening and camping isn’t a problem. So if we all get there Friday eve, we can have a BBQ and bevy and a chin wag/BS about how we could kick Rossi’s behind!!

Oh and stu369 – Lydden is a small circuit, ideal for the SV, but not really the sort of place to stretch a 600 or thou.

As it was a trackday? The vest will indicate an instructor.

or a first-timer

I might be up for this if I can get my SV back together in time. I did Lydden back in April & it was great, an ideal circuit for SV's
