Fitting Abba stand

Ok peeps - I wonder if you can help me. I am trying to fit my ABBA stand and the piece that goes onto the right hand side of the swingarm doesnt fit on the pivot nut.

Do I need to remove the locknut to fit the stand? If I do, is it safe to use the bike without the locknut? Or do I need to take it off everytime I use the stand?

Pardon my ignorance but I'm not very familiar with this stuff so any help greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

I'm sure you shouldn't have to remove anything- but then, I've never used one with a K3. On mine, there's holes in the end of the swingarm axle into which the locator pins fit.

Hmmmm.......confused....:(:( I didnt think I had to remove anything either....perhaps I should get back to Abba and ask them.

Should've got a guide with the stand, admittedly i've not got a k3, but it works the same for all bikes, just into the empty holes...

should have got an adapter with the kit! Was it new?

There is a specific adapter for each bike, and while some fit other makes/models you definately do require an extra piece to fit into the swingarm nut. Check with Abba for the correct adapter.

Works brilliantly when you've got all the bits

Yeah it is new and I have already asked ABBA whether they sent the correct bits and the confirmed they did.

Never mind - I have sent another message to them so perhaps they can shed some light on it.

Thanks for you help. :)

I have an ABBA stand. It came with an SV specific connector (the bit that slots into the cup like bit on the right had side of the bike) as well as the standard one.

There was however a small plastic type thing inside the hole that I couldn't work out what it was, it looked like hardened grease with a little plastic black disc in it or something but it wasn't fastened in and certainly wasn't holding anything in as I could remove it with my fingers. I had to take that out for the adaptor to sit properly and it never went back in. If anyone knows what that was I would love to know (well I'm not that bothered).

Re: Fitting Abba stand

Did you finally manage to use the Abba. Was it the wrong kit or was there a blanking piece over the hole?

Re: Fitting Abba stand

The adapter for the RH side swing arm pivot bolt is a PEGGED shaped male fitting and goes inside the hole that is through the s/w pivot bolt. The left hand one is a cup shape that fits over the nut.
Perhaps the problem is as "creamerybutter" has suggested and has a blank in the centre that needs removing?
