Knocked off by a rabbit !!

No it hasn't happened (yet) !!!

I travel to work on the same empty twisty B roads every day at 5.30 am and this morning had to swerve cos I nearly hit a rabbit ! I've seen a few rabbits, badgers, foxes, cats and stray sheep in the past but they've always been out of the way in time. I've even ducked to avoid blackbirds flying across the road (without even looking). Has anybody been knocked off by any furry little creatures, and/or who claims the record for the smallest to do so ? Jambo has allegedly hit a few !!

No animals were harmed in the making of this post.

Weird, I read a post on the mcnninja forums today about a bloke binning his 05 SV avoiding a cat.

I swerved for a rabbit yesterday, then spent the rest of the ride thinking that was stupid, should have just hit it, its not going to knock me off, is it?

i would have thought going over a rabbit might well knock you off - it's a big bump to go over at speed!?

And as Jambo already previously stated "if you can't eat it in one sitting, don't hit it". You can eat a rabbit in one sitrting, so don't worry too much over it ;).

I came off my old 125 swerving to avoid a rabbit.

Since then I've run over a rabbit and a cat on my SV and CB500 respectively without coming off (not on purpose, I hasten to add). Obviously it depends on the conditions and how much time you have etc but, on the whole, I reckon it's better not to swerve. Quite often you'll miss them if you keep going straight anyway.

When i had my little 50cc moped i was doing about 40mph down a coutry road with a friend in the dark and wet (yes 40mph was pretty much top speed  ) he swerved and missed a deer - i slammed on my brakes and skidded (sp?) into it and "jumped" it somehow i didn't fall off though it was only a baby deer i looked back and it was on its back twitching. I say hit it
