Sorry it MPG again but this could save you money

Hi I have one for you all think about, I have a K3 650S which I use on the day to day grind to work. Normally I reset the trip on every fill up and the yellow light comes on at around 120/125 mile mark which is fine by me .Over the last two months I have been filling up before the 120 mark so the light has not been coming on. The other day I went over the 120 mark and started to wait for the light to go on, as it passed the 125 mark I started to think any minute now, as it passed the 130 mark I started to think looking good, when I passed the 145 mark I thought the light must be broken finally the light came on at 155 miles. The bike gets the same run 10 mile to work 10 miles back, 5 days a week and two 40 mile runs at the weekend, same way of riding, same times, but it has suddenly started to give 35 miles extra on a tank.
I spent a long time thinking what I had done to change this when it hit me around a month ago I fitted a double bubble screen which I got for £20.00 second hand. At the high price of petrol the screen will pay for it's self in no time.
Has any one noticed this on their bike after fitting a double bubble screen.
I reset the trip and I'm now going to ride on a very light right hand grip to see what I can get out of it I will post the results when they come in.

Nice post.

Keep us informed, and due to the amount of fuel I drink, it could even be worth me paying Dealership prices to get a double bubble. That, on your numbers, would pay for itself in 2months.

I was a bid disapointed by the look of the screen when fitted on the bike due to the fact that it comes up higher in you eye line but the change in buffiting makes it a mod worth looking at.On one off the longer rides that I do there is aroad that I can normaly hit 105 on with the new screen it gets 110 in feels much better ( that is the speed in KPH officer ).

I am really sorry!!!!! What is the difference between the standard screen and a "double Bubble"??? I have heard a lot about them but never seen one...

Thanks

This is a picture of a double bubble. A little unclear, but that's what google returned when searching for "double bubble sv".

Basically the double bubble is just a regular screen, that has a bump in the middle :)

Ah and it is a little bigger too! Magic!

I am a big lad and could maybe do with a double bubble for my motorway riding (15 mile each way to work) seem to do same sort of mileage as Jonooffler did.... 120 for light!

Powerpronze and Faabri are imho, the best db screens out there with the largest bubble.

My commute is 50miles to work, and I manage around 140-160 from full to light. But then, I'm still running the engine in (until tomorrow ).

I'm still interested in the fact that a double bubble could improve fuel economy, always knew they made speed more comfortable, but the thought never occured that this was because of a lower drag affect on the rider, and therefore would also save fuel.

I'm out of work early today, so looks like I'll be doing some window shopping online this evening...

I take it you're restricted?

If I was to change my screen I would like it to remain clear, because I have a tinted visor and tend to look through the screen.
Would a double bubble in clear look kack?
