Save our bike meet! chelveston under serious threat
 

For those who know it and those who dont-our local bike meet at chelveston road star and garter pub, Northamptonshire is being threatened to be closed down by the police as apparently we all are anti-social, do dangerous riding/stunts etc..
NONE of that is true! its only a v small village so we all pretty much behave!
This bike meet has been going on for over 30 years and now due to some NEW-COMERS to the village who have moved to chelveston are determined to ruin it.

For those who are local, pop into the pub and sign the petition, for everyone else who wants to help save this bike meet and stand up to those who want to spoil it for us sign the online petition at:

read in one of the bike mags that the same has happened to the chelsea bridge one, and that is probably one of the most famous in the country, also because of a new development and new people moving in.
this seems to be the way this country is going - used to be the saying was -
like it or lump it.

I only really got another road bike because green laning is being restricted so much, we have just lost around 50% of those (in a very underhand way) and they are still not happy.

I would hold fire on judgement of the Bridge being solely from the new development.

Some of the bikers there DO stunt and speed over the bridge. There are quite often accidents there. Some bikers who go are anti-social - it is the very same people that got us kicked out of Soho a while back. The bridge is partly being closed down because some bikers have given the police enough ammunition to do so.

granted this may well go on, but there are existing laws to stop this. the problem is that lately instead of using existing laws there seems to be a leaning towards either bringing out more laws, or just outright bans on things.

Maybe the cops should just do their flippin' jobs...
