Recommend me house & contents insurance

OK, just got my renewal from Zurich

3 bed semi built 1958 with garage. rebuilding cost £150,000 and £50,000 contents.

I couldn't believe it in my best Victor £486.

So moneysupermarket and shop/tailor. Looks like I will be going with Halifax as they work out at £190, even Zurich only quote me £260 on line. So cancelled the renewal.

My policy expires 29th Sept so need to get insurance in place before then.

any recommendations please.

Churchill's.

Got my house, contents and car insurance with them. They've always been competitive and the service has been good.

Steer clear of esure. They may be competative when it come to pricing, but when it comes to client service they fail miserably.

Bloody hell. £60k hardly covers a deposit here!

yeah its great. quite a nice area too. can get a 3 bed semi across the road (in the rough area) for £35k

houses down south are just silly money

i would need to live in a tent if i moved south

Sheesh, I'm paying more than that for buildings only. Contents adds another £300 (£55K) with another insurer. Buildings I have a leetle problem with as I'm in the middle of a subsidence claim. :(

I've been with lloyds Tsb for donkeys years. No need to value your house or anything, they just need to know what it is and where it is.

Lloyds TSB have saved me a lot of money this renewal, I was with NatWest but Lloyds were £120 cheaper

And they do monthly instalments for free. And they're easy to deal with.
