New Bus Lane Camera - Wandsworth/Battersea
I noticed what I think is a new bus lane camera on the A3205 between Wandsworth and Battersea just after the petrol station.
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap...175576&A=Y&Z=1 Is it me, or is it new? If it is new, and active, then I have £300 in fines somewhere in the system so far..... |
Bus lane???
I remember buses. they ran on market day one in the morning, and one back in the afternoon. Do they still have them?. Who is bus lane? any relation to buzz lightyear?. and why does he need a camera?. Confused in the sticks. |

Is it me or is timwilky mad? What is there not to understand about "bus lane" :-) |
yeah spotted that one myself - they put the camera in about a month ago but it's a sneaky one as it isn't painted yellow

While on the subject of bus-lanes.....
Isn't it a bit wierd that motorbikes cant use an empty bus lane, yet I can quite legally filter/overtake on the other side of the road at the same location putting me in more danger to make the same progress? Why does no-one use bus lanes that are not bus lanes ar a particular time due to being variable timed (answer - cos the penalties for getting it wrong are too severe - there should be some kind of red light/green light set up on the bus-lane marker signs - Green and anyone is good to use, red and buses, cabs and pushbikes only) Bus Lanes - good in principle but needing reviewing now we have experience of them David |
I looked more closely this morning and it is not a bus lane camera - it is a red light camera for the pedestrian lights :-)
Cool, bus lane is still go! Whilst looking into this I read a lot of stuff on the reasons for having bus lane cameras - and all of them were to stop busses getting slowed down by traffic (obviously), which begs the questions. 1. When have you ever seen a motorbike slowing a bus down in a bus lane? 2. How often do you see busses slowed down by cyclists in the bus lane? The whole thing of motorbikes not being allowed in bus lanes is another example of why the road offences enforcement policies in this country are unfair and non consistent. How can you get fined more for using a bus lane (no risk to anyone) than using a mobile phone whilst driving (potential big risk to lots of people depending on the situation). It ducking stinks...... |
