SHOUTY LEATHERS

i have been looking on ebay 4 leathers, but dont know what size i am, any one know how to work out the size? ? ?

I was lucky, my Alpinestars fitted me perfectly - I am a size 42 - 44 inch chest - so Euro size I bought was 54. If you are 40 - then look for Eur 50 (I take it you know chest size in inches?). But be warned, all manufacturers differ in sizes marginally, but the fit is more than size, some have longer legs/arms, more space under arms etc. You are much better to try leathers at your local shop and once you found a pair, look on ebay for the same if you don't want to pay retail.

you may be Ok with a 52 but you might need 54 - then again I'm 5'11 and 54 is about the right fit for me heigh wise (actually a little small) - you being 5'4'' I'd definately try leathers on somewhere first

The only way you'll know they fit is to try them on and then sit on a bike. There is no other way unfortunately.

Best thing to do is to go to a local dealer that stocks the leathers you want to buy, try them on make sure the size is right and then look through ebay.

Unless you own a bike shop!
Or are buying second hand and they are stretched beyond all recognition before you get them.

Maybe, although at least it will get you in the shop and you may end up buying there so it would be good for the shop.

I wouldn't buy used from ebay - got SX-1's from a bike shop advertising on ebay who was changing supplier - £499 instead of £829 (at the time) - nice

Why buy on eaby? Lots of orribe chinese rubbish on there.

You dont have to spend a fortune you know. Find a local Hein Gericke, or J&S and im sure you can get something to get fairly cheap ?

But as fizz says, try some on and make sure that they fit properly.

New leathers will stretch by 60%, which equates to the next size up, so get ones that are snug and they WILL get loose over time.

Also, Whats Shouty?

Really, mine have got much tighter over the last two years! Oh, maybe that's not the leathers :(
