New Knee !

Well I finally got to see the organ grinder, rather than his monkey (read consultant rather than registrars) about my knee

I appear to suffer from a medical condition known as 'that's pretty bad'

Those that have seen me on the bike will know the problem - I can get my left knee down without leaning over too much

So, I shall be having another operation, probably before Christmas, involving what is known as an 'external fixator', or bit of scaffolding to use the vernacular of the peasantry

Hopefully it will not only straighten my leg, but also enable me to 'grow' it by around 4.5cm to match the other. I shall invite suitably qualified members of the .org to help with the screwdrivers as it will require daily adjustment

The bad news is that I shall be off the bike for at least 6 months

But I should be back on in time for AR07

Good news Toady, hope they finally get it sorted this time. And, cos I'm such a good friend, I'll look after your bike for you while you're convalescing — now. how's that?

Good news, very pleased you've now got some rectification coming.

That's good news, winter's a rubbish time for riding anyway, you can point and laugh at the frozen bikers.

Great news. A few months away from the thou will be a small price to pay for a fixed knee.

Forgive my ignorance Simon but is that as a result of how badly they fixed it last time?

Great to hear they're going to do something for you - hope it's a good result and you can be kicked out the 'gang.

Glad to hear the good news Toady !!

Sounds like the sort of apparatus that Doohan had - I remember reading an interview in which he said he had to wind each screw a few mm each day !!

Just remember which direction you're supposed to be turning them !!

Hooray. About bleedin time an' all. Be good to have you properly upright again. Plus you get to miss the worst of the weather.

Oh man that's awesome news.

Any idea on when they're booking you in? Or do you have to wait another eternity now that they've decided on what to do for them to actually get around to doing it?

Oooh, does this means it's me next? Pleeeeeeeaaaasse!
