Jabba would be proud

Look what's on my drive at the moment.

Must say I quite like it. Just enough of everything.

Just enough power to keep you entertained but ity never feels like it is going to bite you even when you get hard on the throttle.

Good suspension (if a little soft). It doesn't look as though it can be adjusted, but it has got upside downers on the front. Trés swish. Standard set up seems to be very complient and works very well. It is only when you are going really quick it feels overwhelmed. On the whole though very nice.

It handles beautifully. You can really chuck it into corners. It took a bit of getting used to after the CBR. The front end feels really high. It is a real sit up and beg riding position. For me it would be better with some lower rise bars. Also a bit wider wouldn't go amiss. Not that the standard bars don't give enough leverage (they do), but just my preference.

I found that if you ride it sat more upright (supermoto stylee) rather than leant forward you could get a better feel for what was going on. That saddle is also all day plush. Very comfortable perch indeed.

Wind blast and buffetting was not a problem at all. Got it up to 3 figures and it felt good. A bit of wind pressure in the chest, but no real buffetting to speak of. That little headlamp fairing doing a good job.

If I had one gripe it would be that the engine is quite vibey. I did a 40 mile trip on the little Hornet and whilst not overly intrusive, was noticable. Not sure what a longer jouney would be like.

Overall. Thumbs up. Lovely bike with just enough of everything.

Yeah, the front forks are unadjustable but they are probably a bit better than mine overall. I know what you mean about not biting back, though.

Quite a few owners fit Renthal Ultra-Low bars; lower and a bit wider.

My only gripe with bike is the mirrors, but the Hornet is not alone in giving a good view of the elbows.

What do you think of the accelleration above 7k rpm?

Oh, and well done on trading in your CBR - you've got a much better bike now

Grinch 07-10-06 10:46 AM
