Aprilia RS125 - little bit special?

Morning,

I'd never seen one of these pint sized road racers before, but they seem to be lovely bikes. All the "now" goodies; sexy swing arm, digital dash, upside down forks and very natty Y spoke race style wheels.
I'm wondering how Aprilia can outfit this bike so well when the SV, for all it's many great strengths, seems so old hat? Is the RS125 the bargain it appears on paper? Ta.

Tis a lovely looking bike... 1 thing...

they like to seize even if you do run them on good quality two stroke oil, they need properly looking after lots of TLC to keep them trouble free.

My brother had one he loved his. I think Scoobs had one to.

They aint cheap. They are what? £3500? Thats not much cheaper than an SV, and its less of a bike in reality. It may have bling bits, but the engine is small, and simple to produce, and most of all its Italian, so WILL go wrong.

Id prefer an RS250, now thats a bike

I did. It got the best of everything and was well warmed before each ride. Still went ping. Too highly strung, 2 stroke and Italian. Nuff said.

Nice looking bikes. And that's where the niceties end.

2-strokes are comparatively cheap to build, far far simpler mechanically. Easier to make nice trick wheels etc for a bike that weighs less than a fag packet too :)

I want an RS250 as well. No, actually I want the rumoured 550 4-stroke road bike, mmm.

Some lad at Kingston Uni has one, brand new. Its gorgeous...i wish i had one, but then i dont want to rebuild the engine after 10k miles (£750 jobbie or something). Plus an SV sounds better. But dosnt smell as good...

Oh

I want more money to buy gorgeous bikes :(
