What make of chain?
 

Hi.

Im looking at an Iris or a Triple S chain kit, the guy in the shop said the Iris is stronger. Both are X-ring gold chains. I ride all year round and have heard that some chains and sprockets dont fair v well in bad conditions, anyone have experience of these makes?

Personal opinion is an x-ring chain is overkill on an sv.

I have never had any complaints about the triple s chains I have fitted for a few friends, just make sure your riveting is upto scratch.

Comparative strength between respected marques is not really relivent when assessing chain life, it is the wear, stretch and the maintenance regime that have the biggest impact upon a chains longevity.

Best advice. Buy what you can afford. and if you can afford overspeced, top price you have too much money.
