Crash Bungs Work!

As I discovered on the ride out with some of the Guildford Massive lads this morning.

I hesitated at a T-junction by Twyford station, put my leg down, but the camber of the road meant I could not reach the floor properly, so the bike went down on its left side.

Only damage is a very slight scuff to the bar-end, and a scuff to the crash bung itself. No damage to the bodywork or levers.

And Jester666 saved me from doing it again (on the right side) in Reading on the ride back. Big thumbs up to Jester

Those of you that are thinking of getting crash bungs, whichever make, they come highly recommended.

Any crash bung (apart from maybe the Suzuki ones) should protect well from a slow speed drop.

Sounds like you're having some height problems with the bike like I did. I have a scooped out seat and longer dog bones to lower the bike if you want to sit on it and compare with your standard SV.

My dad had a similar incident, and the bungs saved his gsxr. Not a mark or a sratch visible (to anyone but him)

My SV has huuuuge bungs on it - must have known it was gonna be sold to a new rider :?

No problem dude!! Here to help!

Hope the ride back with me was a little less intimidating! Sort your seat out and you'll be more confident!

Crash bungs?

Are those the same as frame sliders, those nylon spools you bolt to the frame at the engine mounts?
