Ear plugs
 

Anyone got any experience with made to measure ear plugs? I've been using disposables for a while, but it's a bit hit and miss with the fit. These made to measure things look like a good idea but at about £50-60 a basic pair I need to know they are significantly better than the 20-50p per pair for the foam ones.

Anyone got any recommendations for either made to measure or disposables that work better than others?

I've found these people www.ultimateear.com anyone used them?

only about £15 ,and theyr meant to b pretty good ,one thing-make sure you put your helmet on b4 it 'sets' cos ur ear canal changes shape if ur helmets a tight fit ,and your super dooper earplugs are not a good fit if u dont :roll:

try a few types of dispoable & see which work best for you, then buy a big pack of the ones you like

Yep, I have a pair of these and they are the dogs danglies... They can even integrate speakers into them. Just make sure that your ears are clean and clear of any sort of infection when they take the mould :wink:

I have some green leopard custom moulded earplugs. They seem about the same noise level as throw away plugs, I have trouble putting foam ones in properly unless looking in the mirror, but these are easy!! very comfortable and consistent fit is the main advantage!

The guy who made them was very careful & precise which is fairly critical (especially considering it was a friday afternoon), there is no way i'd risk DIY plugs knowing what was involved!

I've got 2 sets from Ultimate ear (I lost one plug and found it again) and I have used them for over 5 years. The best bit of kit I think I've used.

I use pro plugs. They are used by musicians and surfers. They have a tiny tiny little hole in them so you can still hear a bit.
