Monitor Calibration

Do any of you calibrate your monitors at all? What software do you use todo it?

Hi,

I just got a Spyder 2 Express, which is a physical doohickey as well as software. You stick it on your screen and run the software and it makes sure it all looks right. Cost about 70 pounds.

I think the general concensus of opinion is that a physical device is better than software alone. Can't remember the name of any software, but have a search around on here:

I know there's loads of discussions about it.

If you're not doing high end photo work, software only is probably ok I guess.

I use a colorvision colouplus spyder, much better and simpler than software only calibration.

Maybe PM our own TSM. He sent me a link to a website that does good things to help set up the screen etc. Worked on all but 1 of our flat screens here too.

Good site if you want to check setup of analogue LCD monitors.
