01-03 GSXR front end
 

I currently have forks from a 98 SRAD on my 05 SV650. I seen a good deal on 01-03 GSXR 750 forks. I wanted to know, would the 98 wheel and axel fit on the 01?

Like a glove. Well, an ill fitting glove, you need to space the calipers inwards by about 2mm each. You also need a Y-K3 mudguard (or compatible, there's others) and calipers. But tbh, it won't make an awful lot of difference unless your SRAD parts are worn out, they've very similiar forks internally.

I'm hoping the person will email me back. He always gsxr parts, hopefully he'll have the calipers.

Then I'll just get rid of my fork setup.

Just thinkin. With the forks being spaced out more wont the mud guard be bending at the sides a little?. Also as they are further apart, can you use the original wheel spacer insert or do you need to get another one? Or is the spacer issue ok as the bottom of the later forks seem to be a little narower that original srad ones.

The 01-03 forks are coming with the triples so I'm not sure if it will cause spacing issues. I hope not since I'm going to hate looking for another wheel.

Yep, you can either space the mudguard, or just do what I did and bend it slightly, it doesn't mind. Might not be a good idea if it's been sprayed with cellulose, I reckon it could star, but apart from that it's fine.

You use the SRAD spacer and axle, exactly as they come.

Mine is SRAD yokes (top and bottom), SRAD axle and spacer-nut-thinger, SRAD (well, Busa actually but it's the same) front wheel, K2 750 forks, K2 mudguard, K2 calipers, the discs are interchangable . Plus some M8 washers to space the calipers in. Which unless I'm misreading, is exactly what enrico's considering.

But, like I say, very little benefit to it- personally I reckon you'd be better spending the money on getting the SRAD forks rebuilt, they'll then be better than the K2 ones (well, depending on what you have done and who does it) as well as more suited to you. The SRAD calipers are sometimes said to be better as well. I just didn't like the mudguard, and didn't want to have to rebuild the forks- clean Y-K3 ones are easier to find than SRAD.

yeah, I decided to stay with my SRAD forks. I've been planning on anodizing them gold for the bling. When I get them back, I'll be putting in new springs and oil based on my weight and style of riding.
