Ipod help needed....
Right, it's my Birthday on Monday - Yes, Christmas day... :smt113 :smt114
The Mrs bought me an Harman Kardon "Drive & Play" for the Ipod Installed it yesterday, but then realise that my Ipod Mini's software needs updating. Downloaded the Ver 1.4.1 "updater" and started up dating the firmware, easy. It tells me to disconnect the Ipod from the PC, and connect to the power supply to re-flash the memory, which I did. But all I get is a picture of an apple and nothing happens  I've tried resetting it (hold menu and centre buttons for 5-6 secs) and the apple flashes off then on again, but no more.... So, I now have a Drive & Play in the car, but no bloody Ipod !!! Yours truly, Pi$$ed Off of Middlesex... Has anyone ever had this hapen before ? or do I now need a new Ipod to go with it ? . |
Seems you are not alone...
http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/.../t-144905.html http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705 Try going back to an earlier firmware.. http://www.macupdate.com/search.php?...s=iPod+Updater |
I've just logged on to do a similar thing. So annoyed - bought my daughter a radio to play on her ipod, checked it all in the shop and it should work ok.
Yesterday, when present opened and tried, it seems that her nano is version V1.0 and she needs 1.1 or above. Why the hell do apple sell things that don't acually work, the box just said Nano, so one assumed. I think it's all going to go out of the window soon. Lou x |
There are 2 sorts of Nano's - the 'original' and the 'second generation'. They differ mainly through having a slightly different shape. V1.0 could well relate to the 'firmware' that came with the Nano - when I plugged mine in and installed iTunes on my PC, after syncing all the songs, it then told me that there was a new version of firmware available - V1.1
Try checking this out cheers |
