Well, that was unusual

I've just been out to fit mirror extenders to my K6 as I'm sick of the sight of my elbows.

Whilst I'm fitting them (taking all of 10mins to slowly do it), there's folks walking backwards & forwards & not battering an eyelid.

Whilst I'm thinking to myself "This is pretty typical of modern society, I'm tinkering with my bike, and no-one second guesses what I'm doing, for all they know, I could be tampering with it preparing to lift it later," what happens?

That's right, Plod pulls up & gives a short "toot" of the siren. I look up at them, then carry on with what I'm doing. You've got to bare in mind here that I'm just wearing jeans & a top at this point, and freezing my butt off because I couldn't be bothered to put my bike jacket on.

"Excuse me sir, is that your vehicle?" comes the question over the fence. Why yes, it is, can I help you? After an explanation, they jump on the radio, pass my registration details, then apologise profusely for interrupting me.

So I cheerily explained that it wasn't a bother, and it was good to see someone taking an interest in what someone is doing to a bike that's parked up all day.

Goes to show, taxes are put to good use sometimes.

That's good for a change... let's just say I once spent one hour with a locksmith sawing off the lock from my front brake disc (jammed key, nothing would get it out), right in the center of this town, 100 yards from the local plod, and no one even asked what I was doing. They call it "mind your own business", right?

Tomcat, agreed, reassuring. The sig is a result of another thread that reminded me of the scene from Blackadder where Baldrick is trying to learn how to count ;) Classic TV.

There's nothing really that wrong with my elbows, but when it prevents you seeing what's behind you, it takes the urine a little (and I'm only changing them after riding like that for the last 10.5k miles). IMO, they look a little worse, but I'd rather see what's behind me. They're not quite as flush as the pictures make up, but they're livable.

Filipe, aye, mind your own business :P

its always good to see whats behind, 10.5k gave you enough time to work it out though!

And after your bike almost went 'missing' from same place a whle back, I'm sure you were happy to see them. Just as well it was not after 18:00, otherwise 'the nearest officer is in Corwen at present'

Have to do something with mine, the left hand mirror got hit by something in the high winds on Wednesday and now all I can see in it is the tank and my crotch. Not a pretty sight at the best of times. Every time I move it it seems to flick back as soon as I get some speed up. Thank god Ive got a couple of days off next week
