anyone every test ride one?

They have the mechanicals of the Sv so shouldn't be too different.

Just caught my attention...

I had a very short ride on one, tbh if felt like a fat slow lurching SV to me. But i'm really not used to the higher seat so that probably biased me a lot. If I'd not ridden an SV most of that comparison wouldn' have come up either, but you really feel the weight and the lower power sometimes.

Course, they're not really built for the same thing.

Colleague at work changed to a Vstrom from an SV. he is quite tall and found the sv uncomfortable and prefers the riding style of the VS. he reckons the power is good - quite close to the SV but of course you can't whip round the bends like an sv

Just a matter of taste; one is a sports bike the other an adventurer.

If I cannae sell the SV quick then maybe a swap for the V-strom 650?

Must have a look into it.
