burning a hole in my pocket and inflated bike prices
So I thought I would check what my policy change would be for a nice GSXR750.
Well it adds £220 to my policy. ouch, so what if I go for a GSXR1000. A whole £10 more. So both are an option. Well I have been scouring bike trader, flea bay etc. Where do people get their prices from?. Bike trader seems to be full of traders and flea bay seem to have reserves well above book prices. It is supposed to be the depth of winter and depressed prices, but I can't find them. The cash is sat in the building society, I need to spend it before the wife does. Where can I find a good bike at a steal price. MY SV I bought for £500 less than the guy was asking by waving pound notes and walking away. I want that sort of bargain. |
Garages will be the best place, they will be wanting to get rid of their stock before the new models are released like the new gsxr-1000. Get out their now before the prices go up!

Have been keeping an eye open for a cheap well specced SV1000.
Prices seem higher than (or as high as) last summer at the moment. |
i paid a little over book for my sv1000s.

i'm looking at changing to a GSX-R600 K6 and just browsing bike trader they start from around £6k (actually for K7) when they are advertised on the suzuki web site for £6949...

The Gixer thou K5/K6 isn't a bad little bike at all, lighter (dry) weight than the SV650S and about the same size, very slightly quicker though, I'm sure my arms are longer now

Surprised there was only a tenner between your 750 and 1000 quotes.
I got some quotes at the weekend, my current bike and a Daytona 675 were no more than £400. A GSXR750 was £450 but a ZX10 was £1300!!!!!!!!!! HHHHHUUUGGGGEEEEE gap! When I went to TPFT all the bikes were covered by £100. |
