Financial Dilema
 

Ok, seen a set of lowers that were on ebay and really love the look of the SV in black in "Sport". They're going really cheap and are brand new. About £250

Now I'm pretty skint with a hefty mortage/overdraft. Got to service my bike and sort out the forks as I'm way to sturdy for them as standard. Maybe get some new rubber too as my rear is starting to square off.

Got a bonus in March that should be about a grand which will pay off half my credit card but what to do with these lowers

I subscribe to the if you have to borrow, you can't afford school of thought.

Never ever get into debt for a whim. They serve no purpose so why bother. If you want to change the look of your bike, it is your choice but wait until you can afford the lowers. Better still don't bother at all and knock a couple of hundred of your credit card

i took my lowers off and stuck them up the loft.

I never understand those that choose to add lowers to a bike. Yes, fair enough if you bought the bike & they were already bolted on (they still look cack, but if they're there, they're there!)

Buying lowers to put on your bike is merely a bad way to throw good money down the drain IMO. It's just adding more plastic that will break if you drop the bike.

Regardless of finances, don't do it!!

Hmmmm, I know it makes sense! I am in the middle of a shut down at work with loads of oppertunity for Overtime which could pay for them!

If you're skint, don't get them. If only I could follow my own advice. :roll:

Oh and I think they don't look that good but each to their own

If you want 'em then, work for 'em. You can pile up some hours and get a few quid off of that card balance too. Overall you'll be heading in the right direction and won't regret missing out either.

Then do the overtime, and if you really, absolutely, have-to-have,, will die if you don't need them...

... think about the slippery slope you are already on!

Then stick the money into your debt.



Mortgage, OK.

But Credit Cards - the tool of the devil, the way of evil, the path to short-term highs and long-term dispair. Once you are shot of it you'll be a happier, free man, and sooner the better.

'Deals' like this will come again.
