todays little Rant...

:smt093 Gurrr....
Got new insurance with H&R insurance, all is good,
They send me a letter back containing details of what else they need from me, still all good.
One thing they need is a copy of the Datatool System3 alarm/imoblizer cert. Still All good as I have it.
Sends all details back to them, Still all good.
Got letter this morning saying that the Datatool cert does not have my current bike registration on it. This is correct as I bought the bike new in Germany and have since come back to the UK to live and changed the Reg details.
So they suggest I take the bike to the nearest Datatool installion place, not too far from here. So I agree as the information is incorrect, (Me Bad for not noticing before.)
So I ring the shop and they say yes just bring the bike here and the'll restamp the cert with the correct Reg details. Wonderfull

So off 50 miles down the A1 with the family & bike trailer in tow to pick up the bike from the heated workshops (where I work).
Get bike on the trailer and then 50 miles back up to the Shop to show the installation of the Datatool System3 to get the Cert up dated...

When we get to the shop I explain to the manager who looks at all the details of the bike then he gets his pen and stamp and up dates the Cert... Fantastic

So heres the Rant...

They DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE BIKE!!!!

#-o

Is there anyone you can report that to, e.g. Datatool themselves. I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy to know that one of their dealers isn't even checking the bikes he's signing for. Or maybe they won't give a toss... :smt102

Don't know as he looked at all the bike details but I thought he would look at the bike to make sure the thing was fitted correctly at least.

Makes you wonder eh?

However, why didn't you just forego the alarm discount, probably only 15 quid, if that, and save yourself a load of hassle journeywise?

Incidentally I've never been asked for proof of alarm fitment.
