SV650S engine swap

Well the thing is recently my SV has developed a knocking noise in the engine, sounds like its coming from the crank. Anyway, i can get a SV1000 engine at the moment for pretty cheap and i was wondering if it would be much hassle to fit it into my 650? I've been told the frames are the same, true?

Thanks

if you want to up to a 1000 engine, you will most likely have to uprate add many other parts..... like brakes, oil cooler etc
its a lot to do

I bet if you have a look round on t'internet you'll get a 650 engine for reasonable money, that wont involve huge amounts of faffing about with to get in your bike.

Could do that i guess and learn something in the process, thou engine would have been nice though shame it won't fit, oh well i'll just have to cut down on the thrashing next time.

its unusual for a 650 to develop a fault.
