Trackday on a 33bhp license

I've just seen this on cadwells website

What licence do I need? A full category A motor cycle licence (unrestricted) is required to participate in a track day.
Does this mean I cannot do a trackday as I always thought that once you passed your test, you could do a trackday and I'm sure that the magazine you get when you pass your test recommended one.

I think they basically mean no learners (running on a cbt). Ive been on many trackdays and they let me and my bike through, restrictors came out for the day though :D

If you're on a track I imagine that you can legally derestrict the bike anyway. The 33BHP is for the road and as the track is effectively a private road you should be OK. I think it will be up to the discretion of whoever is running the trackday so just ask at the circuit.

Best thing to do is give the trackday provider a call.

There will be no problem taking a restricted bike on track, but yes the license itself is a bit of a gray area.

I don't know the answer, sorry, I could hypothesize, but you can do that just as well too ... so a quick call will be the only way to get a definitive answer ;)

A friend of ours wanted to do a trackday, and the provider refused her because she had a restricted licence....ie 33bhp. It was nothing to do with the bike, it's your licence they look at. However, some trackday providers will let you participate.

Best to ring the provider and ask before you go ahead and book, and don't lie, because you'll lose your money.
