Old SV vs New SV exhaust compatibility
My Friend has a Just written off his older shaped SV650 and luckily it did not damage the exhaust he has on there which is a high level link pipe and scorpion end can.
I have a new shape sv650 and would like to know if anybody does know if it is possible to fit my mates exhaust onto my bike with not much hassle as i have a standard exhaust. Thanks for any response Kyle |
Re: Old SV vs New SV exhaust compatibility
it should be the same as only the styling and fuel injection addition on the pointys that i think is any different, might want to check things like clearance and where you bolt it on to the bike by the passanger pegs, but the pipes should be the same, open to corrections though
but others will be along today and will post with better knowlege than I, Northwind will definatly know im sure, as will Kwakzzr they are very knowledgeable, but there are a hundreds of others that will give you 100% info too, welcome to the site mate  Jon |
Re: Old SV vs New SV exhaust compatibility
I think, I stress think it wont fit. The rear subframes are different on the K3 onwards bikes. I suspect though if you buy the correct link pipe from the exhaust manufacturer it'll go on with no problems.

Re: Old SV vs New SV exhaust compatibility
I sold my connecting pipe that is used to refit your sandard exaust to someone on the forum with a pointy and it fitted! So the only thing that might not work is the bracket that fits behind the footpeg hanger to hold the can! But you could always make one!
ps mine is a scorp high level. Welcome to the mad house!! |
Re: Old SV vs New SV exhaust compatibility
Yep, I bet you a pound the brackets won't work, but the rest is probably the same. Not sure about the pipe o/d but it sounds like Billy is so that's all good :)
