Job Interviews
I have my first Job interview in nearly 2 years this afternoon, its at 5:30... so it involves slinking off 10 minutes early
i Hate them its nearly three and i can feel myself sweating already... Its the first i have ever been too that sbeen setup by an agency too, so information on the company is thin on the ground thats not there fault the company thats interviewing me is only 7 months old... !! Aghhhhh! |

Re: Job Interviews
Good luck. What's the job? I haven't been interviewed for a few years, but remember that theses people are only human, and they can't wait to get home to their families either! ;)

Re: Job Interviews
I had one today at midday! I was surprisingly calm...for once. I think i have now got to the point of, if it happens it happens. Theres nothing more you can do other than just answer the questions...but THINK before you answer.

Good luck with your interview. One point with agencies is that they may have edited your CV or misrepresented you as a candidate slightly. this can lead to annoyance and confusion on both sides. Have a copy of your original CV with you, check it before you do the interview and have it to refer to if necessary. I really don't like recruitment agents! |

An interview is their chance to see if they think you're good enough to get on with the rest of their team. You already 75% have the job. They've seen the CV & invited you for a talk. That's more than most get. Just the last hurdle to overcome. Be yourself, don't be pressured, and don't be afraid. If you're not yourself, and they employ you because of who they think they see, you'll hate the job & you'll be looking for another in 6months time. If the job isn't right for you as they explain it in the interview, walk away. Like I said, this is their chance to find out about you as a person, they already know what you can/can't do from your CV. It's also your chance to find out about them. Research as much as you can on the t'inter-web (if they have a website, you MUST look at this, they will ask "Have you seen our website?" in the interview). The more information you come armed with, the more motivated you'll look. Interviews should be viewed as a conversation, not an interrogation :) |
